Where these numbers come from
Straight from CCP's own API — the same order book the game shows you. "Buy now" is the cheapest sell order, "sell now" is the highest buy order, and the number in brackets is how many units are behind that price.
Be aware of what that does not say: this is the best price in the whole region, not in one particular station. In a trade hub they are usually the same thing, but a lone order out in a quiet system can look like a bargain until you work out the trip.
Prices are fetched once for everybody and kept for up to 15 minutes, because they are the same for everybody — asking CCP again for each visitor would be rude and slow. That is why every price on this page is shown with its age.
